When it rains, it pours.

So I was sitting in the urgent care clinic yesterday waiting for x-ray results to tell me whether my foot was broken (after a spill down some stairs at work) when I got the call that they had offered the job to someone else. I suppose I was supposed to feel better to hear that they thought I was great, and that I made it a very tough decision for them, but I don't. Mostly because I know just enough about the other guy's qualifications to know that I could do the job better. And more importantly, I'm sure I want it more. In any event, I will keep my head up and just keep looking. The right job will come along sometime.

And no, my foot is not broken. But from what I'm hearing, I kinda wish it were. I think it would probably heal faster. It looks like I have soft tissue damage, and I have to get an MRI next week to make sure there is no ligament or tendon damage. In the meantime, I can't put any weight on it so I have a lovely walking boot and crutches.

So much for getting back to the gym pronto after vacation. And speaking of vacations, I'll have a trip report soon.

I'm sorry they didn't pick you - that is the most frustrating feeling in the world, knowing you want the job more...

There's always rainy Oregon (yeah, not really much of a consolation).

I hope the foot feels better soon!

Oh, Eva, I'm so sorry to hear of the disappointment. I know that you are very qualified and the right job will come but that doesn't make it any easier.

You should talk to Terri_A about your foot, she's been going through a soft tissue foot injury as well.

What a sucktastic way to end a vacation! Sorry to hear about your foot and even more sorry to hear about the job. But this way hopefully you'll be able to find a better job in a better Texas city ;)

Eva, so sorry to hear about the job. I was crossing all of my appendages for you. I hope your foot heals soon as well - it all seems to happen at once, doesn't it.

Aggie - Oh man! I'm so sorry to hear about your foot and the news on the job front certainly doesn't make it any better. Jeff and I both hope things will turn around quick and life gets better!

Bummer Eva! I know how badly you wanted the job and the need to get out of where you are currently working. I pray the right thing will come along soon.

And the foot as well???? I hope it heals quickly.
